You'll want a screwdrivers and a claw hammer and a tape measure and a drill and a marker and a spirit level and a trimming knife.
IRC limits tread-to-tread riser height variation to a maximum of 3/8 in across the complete flight.
Tread nosing overhang must measure uniformly between 3/4 in and 1-1/4 in beyond the riser below.
